Rosie through her company World Ice Events, LLC has created some of the most precedent setting and innovative events in ice skating. She is the trusted source for spectacular custom ice skating projects for clients such as the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, the NHL, The Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art and corporate clients ranging from Credit Suisse to Toyota. The company office is located where Rosie took her very first steps on the ice, at Rockefeller Center.
Rosanna Tovi (Rosie) was born and raised in New York City. At the age of four Rosie took her first steps on the ice rink at Rockefeller Center, by the age of 5 she competed in her first competition at the Olympic Arena in Lake Placid NY. Skip forward to age sixteen and Rosie was making her home state proud home by becoming a U.S. National Medalist, U.S. double gold medalist and representing her country as a member of the U.S.A International Figure Skating Team. She brought home two gold medals from Vienna, Austria and was inducted into the Skating Hall of Fame. Turning professional at age 23, Rosie toured the world performing and continuing to bring home gold as a member of the World Professional Figure Skating Team. Her remarkable athletic skills launched her to success as a competitive and professional athlete, but only her creativity and innovation could explain her successful endeavors outside of athletic performance.
In 2010 another layer was added to World Ice Events with the developement of Eco Friendly Ice Rinks. This artificial ice skating surface uses no electricity, no water, no toxic refrigerants and no Zamboni is needed. After skating and testing every ice skating surface known to man, Rosie decided to partner with a company on the cutting edge of ice surface technology and bring a unique new surface formula to ice skating. The surface allows for set up of an ice skating rink just about anywhere, indoors or outdoors. The 100 percent recyclable surface is an environmentally friendly option that provides the enjoyment of ice skating without the heavy carbon and H2O footprint of conventional ice rinks. The awareness to search for a greener alternative for ice skating was inspired by the environment Rosie grew up in. A New York City work live gallery in Soho is where Rosie’s Dad Murray Tovi invented and designed innovative products, several of the inventions created in that space have shaped the world we live in today. The Task Energy Habitat was one such invention, the catalyst for this future home was the 1973 oil embargo, a harbinger of things to come. In an effort to address this Murray Tovi invented a new type of human habitat for the future. A dwelling that would not waste energy and one that would use far fewer raw materials, all without compromising on comfort or dignity. This brought an awareness about the environment to Rosie at an early age.
Rosie works tirelessly for humanitarian and environmental causes. Through World Ice Events Rosie has brought ice skating to children in low income communities and produced numerous charity events to benefit important causes. World Ice Events is dedicated to representing Rosie’s vision by operating as a socially conscious company committed to help make the world a better place.
